Study Abroad Process

Applications for Japanese language schools are accepted four times a year January, April, July, and October.

Start preparing at least six months before your desired admission date!

  • Decide on your arrival date and choose a school
  • Take the entrance exam
  • Prepare application documents after finalizing your study destination
  • Apply to the Immigration Bureau (about 4–5 months before arrival)
  • Receive the Certificate of Eligibility from Japan Institute of HR Development.
  • Pay tuition fees to the Japanese language school
  • Apply for a visa at the Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka
  • Arrange flight tickets and accommodation
  • Travel to Japan
